Shrink film is a type of plastic material that, when heated, shrinks tightly around the object it is covering. It's commonly used in packaging, as it creates a tight, protective seal around products. The film starts as a larger, flexible sheet, and when exposed to heat (often using a heat gun or a shrink tunnel), it contracts, conforming closely to the shape of the item being wrapped.

Shrink films are made from a variety of materials, with polyolefin (POF), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and polyethylene (PE) being some of the most common. Each type has different properties, such as varying levels of durability, clarity, and stretch.

Common uses of shrink film include:

  • Product packaging: Shrink film is used to wrap everything from food to electronics, ensuring products are tightly sealed for protection and tamper evidence.
  • Bundling: Multiple products can be grouped together using shrink film, such as packs of beverages or cans.
  • Labeling: Shrink sleeves (a specific type of shrink film) are often used for custom labeling, covering the entire surface of the product container.

Shrink film is appreciated for its versatility, ease of use, and the professional finish it provides.
